World Restaurants With The Longest Wait Lists

Ever had a hard time getting into a restaurant you really wanted to get a reservation at? For a day and age where there is so much instant gratification in our lives, waiting can be difficult. If you thought waiting a few days or a week or two to grab a coveted seat at an eatery was extreme, we’re about to really blow your mind. Check out some of these restaurants from around the world that have insane wait lists.

Damon Baehrel, New York

Okay, brace yourself. This place has one insane wait list. How long? Try ten years, possibly more. The restaurant is located in the basement of the home of chef Damon Baehrel. The chef takes his food very seriously. In fact, he oversees every single step of the process. That includes getting and often growing the food, prepping it, preparing it, waiting on the diners, and clean up. The entire dining experience is said to take over 5 hours. During this time you’ll be treated to 20+ courses, according to the website. There was such a backlog of reservations that up until June of this year, there had been a 6 year period where no new reservations were accepted. Reservations are accepted via email only, and require a deposit. How many years down the road you’ll be able to eat here even after scoring a reservation, is anyone’s guess.

Truly one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had. I feel so grateful that I got to eat here this week. Considering how difficult the reservations are to get I am very lucky. Thanks to my amazing boss. Damon Baehrel is so passionate and fanatical in his Native Harvest cuisine. Everything was so delicious and its mind blowing what he does to create each dish. I never realized the amount of edible things in my own backyard. My culinary friends will surely appreciate the level of dedication this man has to his craft. It is like no other. 🙏 #damonbaehrel #nativeharvest #cookingfromtheland #treesap #garden #homemadecheese #forestfloor #treebark #mushrooms #nativeflour #nuts #oils #flowers #geniuskitchen #upstatenewyork #mealofalifetime #passionatechef #luckygirl

Noma, Copenhagen

After Damon Baehrel’s wait list, this one might seem like child’s play. Noma is typically booked three months in advance. Reservations can only be made the 6th day of every month. Once the lines open to accept those reservations, it’s said that a few thousand people will call in to try to secure a spot. Within a couple of hours, everything is booked. The menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal ingredients, and everything is locally sourced. Prepare for a hefty bill at the end of your 20+ course meal.

Club 33, California

Located in Disneyland, Club 33 is the epitome of exclusivity. To join this club, you’ll have to pony up some serious cash to good ol’ Mickey Mouse. The initiation fee is just under AED 92k. On top of that, you’ll be expected to shell out an additional 44k yearly in dues. Depending on the type of membership, this will buy you exclusive access to different resort experiences. The restaurant is located above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, right next to where Walt Disney’s once kept a private apartment. To indulge in food and drinks, well that’s going to cost you too. But, what’s another 37K, right? As far as the wait, reports vary from anywhere between 10-14 years. That definitely qualifies as one of the longest restaurant wait lists.

Tickets, Barcelona

With a crazy long wait list, this place really is one of the hottest tickets in town. Unlike some other restaurants with long wait lists, there are a decent number of tables at Tickets. But, even though there’s 90 tables, getting a reservation is still a herculean feat. Reservations only open up about every 3 months. Even then, you’re not going to get in to eat any time soon. Your reservation is bound to be months in the future. You can only throw your hat into the reservation ring online. Starting at midnight, you can try your luck at getting a seat. So, if you’re not a night owl, and desperately want to dine here, set an alarm.
