Best Amusement Parks in the World

Amusement parks have long been a favorite getaway for children and adults alike. There are few things that can bring out the kid in you more quickly than jumping on some rides, winning a huge stuffed animal plush playing a game, and eating some not so good for you food.  An amusement park called Bakken is located in Denmark and is the oldest operating amusement park in the world. It opened all the way back in 1583. Today, amusement parks abound. It’s estimated that Europe alone has somewhere around 300 of them. Here are some of the best amusement parks we could find from around the globe.

Walt Disney World Resort // USA

Though Disney now has several different theme parks scattered across the globe, Walt Disney World Resort in the state of Florida tops the must-see list. For starters, it’s actually four parks. There’s the Magic Kingdom, which heavily follows many beloved Disney classics in their rides. There’s Animal Kingdom, which blends rides and animal attractions. There’s also EPCOT, which focuses on innovation, learning, and has The World Showcase. Several countries and cultures are represented around a large lagoon in the center. Finally, there’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where movies take center stage in the theme. Oh yeah, there’s also two water parks. There’s shows, nightly fireworks, parades, and shopping galore. The attention to detail here is insane, and even the restaurants feature some incredible experiences. While WDW may not be tops for thrill enthusiasts, it takes top billing in many a Disney fan’s heart.

Gardaland // Italy

This amazing amusement park is the largest in Italy. This park offers something for everyone. There are some incredibly thrilling and innovative rides for those seeking an adrenaline rush. But, there are also plenty of kiddo friendly rides for families looking for a fun-filled getaway. Hot day? There are water rides where you can cool off. The park is also beautifully and fantastically themed. For a truly magical experience, why not stay at the affiliated hotel that looks like a castle?  For a great time for the whole family, this is definitely a top choice.

Sentosa Island // Singapore

Why settle for one little amusement park, when you could visit an entire island that is dedicated to rides and amusements of all sorts?! It’s one of the largest amusement parks in all of Asia, and nearly 5 million tourists flood its gates for a day of frivolity yearly. You’ll find plenty of roller coasters, water-based rides, animal parks, and even a Universal Studios theme park here. Need some rest after all that fun? There are two hotels on site, so you can crash and then wake up early the next day and do it all again.

Tivoli Gardens // Denmark

This is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. It has been in operation since the 1840’s, and has been the home to many a smiling face ever since. This theme park embraces its history, and many classic rides remain, mixed in with the latest and greatest thrill rides. The very first roller coaster the park ever had is still in operation and is regarded as its best. It’s also a very visually beautiful park, with greenery and flowers in profusion.
