Dubai Design District (also known as D3 more commonly) – is a hub for the designers, artists and creative thinkers in Dubai, and is also becoming the new IT spot for a bite to eat. Located right behind Dubai’s Downtown area, Dubai Design District is the perfect place to head to over the weekend for something to eat, and a nice walk around to visit their fashion concept stores, chic galleries, and the showrooms of our regions up and coming designers.
Luckily the home of The Modern East is right here in the Dubai Design District, so we often trek out and try all of the new spots for some grub. (and yes, we do this solely for the purpose of research :P)
For part 2 of our food tour we are heading out for lunch. The OG lunch spot of D3 – meet our dear 1Life. If you are as fortunate as us and actually work in D3 this is THE spot for lunch. With an extensive salad bar, and yummy lunch menu 1Life was such a hit in the D3 community that they had to build an extension. 1Life is now more than double its original size and has tons of new dishes on the menu that we cannot wait to try.

The Light House is a concept store and restaurant all under one roof. With the amazing Chef Izu who has designed the entire menu – The Light House is the perfect place to dine with friends. Some of our faves? The lentil soup, the Rigatoni with truffle and crispy calamari.

More on the casual dining side, Craft is a great place to pop over for lunch. With an interesting menu of poke bowls, salads, sandwiches and some yummy main dishes – this is a place where anyone will find something that they love. Our faves? The Truffled Quinoa Risotto, the Chargrilled Prawns Poke Bowl and the Craft Burger.
